Southport Civic Society is 50 years old this year! We are passionate about our town, its architecture and its character. Our aim is to protect our heritage and to promote new initiatives and developments to help shape our future. We are a small independent group of people from all walks of life who campaign for local causes, speak out in the media, follow Planning issues and provide a 'civic voice' for local people.
We have designed a walking guide to promote an awareness of the architectural and historical development of Southport. The trail focuses on the Lord Street Conservation area and the atmosphere and rich variety of building styles which make up its unique character.
The Town Trail is stocked at the following local retailers: Broadhurst's bookshop, 5-7 Market Street; Di Silva's Deli, 20 Hoghton Street; Kernaghan Books, Wayfarers Arcade; Starbucks, 221-223 Lord Street; Tappers cafe, 9 Union Street; Tourist Office, 112 Lord Street
